Why We Carry This

Tuberose is one of the most demanding florals to build around, and Cecile Matton did it properly here. The multi-jasmine heart construction gives Tubereuse Imperiale a richness that single-note tuberose fragrances rarely achieve. It's been in BDK's lineup since 2016 and holds its place confidently against newer entrants.

Perfumer: Cecile Matton · Year: 2016

Geranium opens the composition with a green, slightly medicinal edge before the tuberose arrives and takes over completely. Cecile Matton stacks ylang-ylang and both jasmine varieties behind it, which gives this particular tuberose more density than most, less white and wispy, more full-throated and tropical. The incense in the base is a smart choice: it grounds the florals without damping them, and the Madagascar vanilla adds a creaminess that stops the composition from feeling cold. This is tuberose treated as the main event, not decoration.
