Chez Bond was Bond No 9's earliest release and it still demonstrates what the house does when it operates at its most considered: a green-citrus aromatic composition that earns genuine longevity through the vetiver-sandalwood base rather than projection. The tea note in the heart is the quiet move that gives the fragrance its distinction.

Chez Bond opens with grass and green notes that are specific rather than generic, violet leaf adding a cool, slightly watery quality before citrus brightens the accord. Tea enters the heart from behind the citrus and green, a move that the composition needs: tea grounds the opening materials in something warmer without redirecting them. Sandalwood and vetiver in the base give the drydown a woody-earthy quality that develops slowly, cedar adding structure that extends the composition's wear well past its light-handed opening.
