Island
Island is Bond No.9 moving away from New York cartography toward something warmer. Coconut and tiare flower open the composition with a tropical softness that is generous without being cloying, the tiare adding a floral richness that coconut alone cannot provide. Vanilla threads through the mid-stage with a sweetness that sandalwood keeps from becoming dessert-register, the wood giving the whole accord a dry warmth. The musk base is clean and close to skin, extending the tropical accord into a soft, lasting drydown.
Why We Carry This
The tiare-coconut combination in Island works because neither note dominates: the flower keeps the fruit from reading as sunscreen, and the sandalwood base gives the whole composition a warmth that the tropical opening earns. Bond No.9 at its most transportive.
