Explicite
Explicite opens with raspberry and bergamot before quickly settling into a rose-centered floral heart that Ex Nihilo has built with unusual density. The fruit in the opening is not decorative: raspberry's tartness gives the rose a sharper, more interesting backdrop than citrus alone would provide. Jasmine and ylang-ylang build depth and warmth through the heart, and vanilla and sandalwood close with a sweetness that is earned by the fruit-rose development preceding it. An explicit fragrance in the best sense: it states its intentions clearly and follows through.
Why We Carry This
The raspberry-rose construction in Explicite works because Ex Nihilo understands proportion: the fruit does not overwhelm the floral, it sharpens it. The ylang-ylang adds a creamy warmth to the heart, and the vanilla-sandalwood drydown makes the fragrance complete rather than leaving it in the fruit-floral category without closure.
