Palissandro is rosewood, and the wood in question brings a sweet, slightly floral warmth to the composition's base that ordinary cedar or sandalwood could not replicate. Rosa Palissandro opens with bergamot and raspberry, the fruit note giving the rose a juicy, modern character before the rosewood base begins to assert itself. The rose in the heart is present and warm rather than thin and decorative, and the sandalwood-cedarwood-amber base that surrounds the rosewood gives the composition a depth that the lighter Aqua Allegoria releases deliberately forgo.
