Almond opens against pink pepper and bergamot, the nut note central rather than merely supporting, before plum and cinnamon arrive in the heart to add fruit and warmth. Heliotrope gives the composition a powdery quality that softens the mid-stage before tobacco and leather arrive in the base as the Extreme designation's real meaning. The patchouli-cedar close is dry and persistent. This is what happens when Guerlain decides warmth needs authority.
