Richard Herpin built Five Senses as an inventory of warmth: apricot and davana giving the opening a fruity, slightly anise-adjacent brightness, lime and geranium adding lift alongside pink pepper. Tobacco leaf arrives in the heart alongside cardamom, the two warming the composition before oud and guaiac wood take the base. Sandalwood, patchouli, and moss give the foundation its texture, benzoin and tonka bean adding a sweetness that amber extends into a drydown that stays close and rich for hours.

Five Senses is the House of Dastan composition built to demonstrate ambition: sixteen notes, all working in coherent layers. Herpin's use of davana alongside tobacco leaf is the structural choice that makes the composition more than a list, and the oud-patchouli-moss base gives it the depth to justify the material richness.
