Rum takes the heart in a way that frankincense deepens rather than sweetens, patchouli providing the earthy counterweight that keeps the composition grounded. This is one of the original Kilian releases and it shows: the rum-frankincense combination has a daring that later releases sometimes moderate. Sandalwood and vetiver in the base are dry and lasting, amber giving the finish a smooth, warm quality that suits the ambition of the name.
