Coffee Passion opens with roasted coffee in the foreground, cardamom and black pepper sharpening the accord into something more complex than a straight coffee fragrance achieves. The spice continues into the heart, where vanilla begins to build alongside amber, the sweetness arriving slowly rather than immediately. Tonka bean and sandalwood give the base a creamy, warm depth, and the musk that closes the composition is dark and soft rather than the clean musks most coffee fragrances use as a base.

Coffee fragrances succeed or fail on the quality of the coffee note, and in Coffeee Passion the roasted, slightly bitter quality of the opening accord is accurate and well-sustained. The cardamom-pepper addition in the opening prevents it from reading as a single-note coffee spray, which is the category's most common failure mode.
