Sex Sea opens with a citrus overture that is genuinely complex: yuzu and pink grapefruit giving way to citron and mandarin, wormwood adding a bitter-herbal note that prevents the opening from reading as simple cologne. Then the sea notes arrive with ozonic accord and salt, fig and myrtle threading through the aquatic heart and keeping it from abstraction. The patchouli and oakmoss base give the composition an earthen depth that aquatic fragrances almost never have, ambergris in the drydown adding warmth that outlasts the marine opening by several hours.
