Desirtoxic opens with cardamom and bergamot that are bright but brief, the black currant and cannabis heart arriving to redirect the composition toward something darker and more resinous. Cannabis as a heart note reads less like smoke and more like the raw, green-earthy quality of the plant before combustion, tonka bean giving the accord a sweetness that prevents it from turning purely austere. Benzoin and patchouli in the base add a balsamic depth, moss providing the animalic edge that Martine Micallef's formulas often carry. Unusual and deliberately so.

Cannabis as a perfumery note is handled clumsily by most houses. M. Micallef's Jewel Collection uses it in Desirtoxic with enough surrounding complexity that the material functions as a genuine ingredient rather than a provocation.
