Amore Caffé
Coffee and cardamom together in the opening of Amore Caffe produce something closer to a spiced espresso than a simple coffee fragrance. Bergamot brightens the accord in the early minutes before the vanilla and tonka bean heart builds, the sweetness arriving slowly and then staying. Benzoin deepens the base, giving the vanilla a resinous quality it would not have alone, and patchouli adds a dark earthiness that grounds the composition through its long drydown. This is overtly warm and sweet, built with good materials, and makes no attempt to be subtle about either quality.
Why We Carry This
Mancera's approach to coffee-vanilla here is more honest than most: the cardamom opening actually develops before the vanilla takes over, rather than the coffee existing only as a top note that fades within minutes. The benzoin base is what makes the vanilla phase genuinely interesting rather than predictable.
