Aoud Lemon Mint
Mint in the opening is the element that makes Aoud Lemon Mint distinct from its Montale counterpart. Alongside lemon, bergamot, and grapefruit, the mint adds a cool, aromatic quality that makes the opening feel almost aquatic without any actual aquatic notes. The contrast when the oud arrives in the heart is sharp and intentional: warm, resinous oud against a background that was just cold and bright. Rose and jasmine mediate between the two poles, and the cedarwood base extends the oud's presence into a dry, clean finish.
Why We Carry This
The mint-to-oud transition in Aoud Lemon Mint is more considered than the name suggests. Pierre Montale uses the aromatic freshness to create a tension that makes the oud feel earned rather than expected. Among Mancera's oud releases, this has the sharpest compositional contrast.
