Fig Extasy
Fig Extasy opens with fig nectar, incense, black pepper, and ginger in a combination that immediately establishes the composition's dual character: the fresh sweetness of ripe fig against the resinous-spiced warmth of incense and pepper. Fig leaf in the heart adds a green, slightly bitter quality alongside leather and cedar, lavender and thyme threading through with an aromatic freshness that keeps the resinous core from becoming dense. Siam benzoin, styrax, and tonka in the base hold the fig memory in warm resin through the entire drydown.
Why We Carry This
The fig-incense combination in Fig Extasy is Mancera doing something less common in their range: a composition where the fruit note and the resinous base share equal billing. The fig leaf heart gives the composition a botanical specificity, and the benzoin-styrax base gives it a warmth that the fresh fig opening does not predict. The 2021 release is one of the house's more compositionally nuanced entries.
