Mancera manages it by anchoring the coca-cola heart in real materials: patchouli gives the accord an earthy counterweight, orange blossom adds floral complexity, and cinnamon-nutmeg in the opening keeps the top from reading as purely sweet. The tonka bean and labdanum base give the drydown a resinous warmth that is considerably more sophisticated than the opening suggests, benzoin adding a light sweetness that connects the cola accord to the base without overwhelming it.
