Aldehydes lift the opening into something bright and slightly soapy, bergamot and pink pepper grounding it before the effect becomes dated. Iris and jasmine build the heart with rose threading between them, ylang-ylang adding a tropical fullness that keeps the composition from reading as purely classical. Vetiver in the base is the grounding element, sandalwood and amber wrapping the whole into a soft, lasting warmth.

Caissa uses aldehydes in a way that acknowledges their vintage associations without surrendering to them. The vetiver-iris pairing in the drydown is what keeps this feeling current rather than nostalgic.
