Roses Musk
Roses Musk is a reduction: rose and musk, the two materials that have coexisted in perfumery for centuries, presented here without much additional architecture. The bergamot opening gives the rose a brightness before the musk takes over, and the relationship between the two materials is allowed to develop without interruption from competing notes. Sandalwood and amber in the base give the musk a warmth that extends the composition's intimacy through the hours of wear. A fragrance about two notes and nothing else, which is exactly enough.
Why We Carry This
Roses Musk's simplicity is its quality: the rose-musk relationship is allowed to occupy the entire composition rather than serving as a supporting element. The sandalwood base is well-chosen, and the fragrance performs with the consistency that Montale brings to their most direct releases. A clean, reliable rose-musk that earns its popularity.
