Herod
Cinnamon opens Herod with a dry spice that avoids going sweet, pepper keeping the top from collapsing into warmth too quickly. Tobacco leaf and osmanthus build the heart together, the osmanthus adding a faint apricot-like quality that softens the tobacco's rougher edges. Labdanum and incense in the deeper heart give the composition its resinous weight, and vanilla in the base anchors everything without sweetening it.
Why We Carry This
Herod is Olivier Pescheux at his most direct: tobacco, spice, and resin in a composition that does exactly what it promises. The osmanthus detail in the heart is what separates it from more obvious tobacco fragrances.
