Why We Carry This
Porpora is the most distinctly Italian composition in our Luna selection: a rose fragrance that runs toward darkness rather than lightness, the chestnut-myrrh-patchouli base pulling the raspberry-spice opening into deep, resinous territory. Paolo Terenzi's handling of the poppy in the heart is what makes this composition more than the sum of its notes.

Porpora (deep crimson in Italian) opens with raspberry and rose in a pairing that cinnamon and cloves warm immediately, pulling the composition toward something darker than the fruit-floral opening implies. Bulgarian rose in the heart is deeper and fuller than the opening rose, poppy adding a soporific sweetness alongside incense and patchouli. Chestnut in the base is the unexpected material, dry and slightly nutty, benzoin and myrrh giving the amber warmth a resinous complexity that matches the name's color.
