Black Moonlight is the darker of the two Duran Duran collaborations, and it earns that positioning. The labdanum-oud-leather architecture is substantial without tipping into excess, which is harder to achieve in this register than it sounds.

Labdanum and elemi resin open dense and slightly resinous, bergamot giving the first impression a faint brightness before saffron arrives. Rose and oud form the heart, the floral softening the wood without diluting its character. Vetiver and leather in the base are authoritative and long-lasting, sandalwood smoothing the transition into a drydown that holds its shape for hours without demanding attention.
