Love Osmanthus
Love Osmanthus is built around a single floral that most Western noses encounter rarely: Chinese osmanthus, a flower that smells of apricot and leather simultaneously, neither fruit nor floral but something in between. Italian lemon opens with a brightness that frames the osmanthus arrival in the heart, the citrus giving the unusual floral a familiar entry point. Cedar in the base is warm and clean, giving the composition a woody framework that holds the osmanthus in place without obscuring its distinctive character.
Why We Carry This
Osmanthus is one of perfumery's genuinely distinctive materials, and Atelier Cologne's treatment in Love Osmanthus is one of the cleaner examples of the note. The lemon opening is the right entry, the cedar base the right frame. For clients who want to understand what osmanthus actually smells like before encountering it buried in a larger composition.
