Cardamom and cinnamon in the opening of Lune Feline are fiery and immediate, pink pepper giving the spice a dry sharpness. Styrax arrives in the heart with an almost incense-resin quality, ambergris and cedar giving the mid-stage a warmth that is marine and woody at once. The base is the payoff: Peru balsam and Tahitian vanilla, the latter specifically chosen for its white, less obvious sweetness. The whole composition sits in the space between a spiced amber and a gourmand, comfortable with neither label.

Lune Feline is Atelier des Ors's flagship and the fragrance that most clearly demonstrates the house's material philosophy. The Tahitian vanilla in the base, chosen over Madagascar vanilla for its subtler sweetness, reflects the deliberate material choices that define the collection. The spice-styrax-vanilla arc is genuinely original and one of the best compositions we carry in the oriental spicy register.
