Champagne is the note in Pink Me Up that does the structural work: in the heart alongside blackberry and rose it gives the fruit-floral combination an effervescent quality, slightly dry and sparkling rather than sweet. Bergamot and orange blossom in the opening are luminous and clean before the blackberry arrives, deep and cool. Iris in the base is the refinement: a powdery, slightly rooty quality that patchouli and musk give warmth to, the finish sitting close to the skin in a way that the bright opening does not predict.
