Why We Carry This
Green Irish Tweed from 1985 established what a fougere could be when built around violet leaves and Mysore sandalwood. Every green-fresh masculine released since has been, in some sense, responding to this one.
Character
Accords: Fresh, Green, Aromatic, Woody, Floral, Citrus
Perfumer: Olivier Creed
Launched: 1985
Lemon verbena and iris at the top are quiet and precise, the opening doing nothing to announce what follows. Violet leaves take the heart somewhere cool and green, a note that reads as close to fresh air as any accord manages. Mysore sandalwood and ambergris in the base are warm and long-wearing, the combination producing a drydown that has not been convincingly improved upon in forty years.
