The Javanol-Cetalox base in Bianco Oro is a technically specific choice that demonstrates Silvia Martinelli's material knowledge. Bianco Oro opens with pink pepper and bergamot, the pepper giving the citrus a sharpness that black pepper reinforces before rose arrives in the heart to soften the spice accord. The base is where the composition declares itself: Javanol and Cetalox are both synthetic sandalwood and ambergris analogues of exceptional quality, giving the fragrance a warm, woody-amber depth that is simultaneously powerful and clean. Patchouli adds the characteristic earthen note that prevents the base from reading as purely mineral. The white gold of the name is in that base.
