Citizen Queen is Romano Ricci reaching back to the chypre-aldehyde tradition of mid-century femininity, then doing something unexpected with it. Bergamot and aldehydes open with a brightness that rose and iris then soften into something warmer and more complex. The patchouli-labdanum base is classical chypre territory, and Ricci inhabits it with the confidence of someone who grew up in a house where this tradition was lived rather than studied.
