Kajal Eau de Parfum

Kajal opens on a trio of Italian citrus, Calabrian bergamot, mandarin orange, Amalfi lemon, before Turkey red rose and orris settle in underneath. Orris does the heavy lifting, pulling the rose toward powder instead of jam. Vanilla, tonka and sandalwood carry it into a dry-down that stays soft and a little dusty the whole way through.

Christian Carbonnel built this around orris and it shows. Rose fragrances that lean powdery instead of sweet are rarer than they should be, and this one never goes stale.
