Another 13
Another 13 is the fragrance that made Le Labo relevant to people who thought they did not like perfume: the ambrette seed note has a musky, slightly nutty quality that reads as skin-smell rather than fragrance, and Daphne Bugey's construction uses moss and ambergris to deepen that naturalistic quality without announcing it. Jasmine petals give the composition a floral warmth that appears without identifying itself as jasmine to the untrained nose. The result is a fragrance that seems to amplify whoever is wearing it rather than replacing them.
Why We Carry This
Another 13 is perhaps the definitive example of skin-musk perfumery done at the highest level: the ambrette-ambergris accord is genuinely sophisticated, and the jasmine's role is subtle enough that most wearers are unaware of it. The moss gives the composition a depth that prevents it from being purely abstract.
