Why We Carry This
Among Mancera's amber-forward releases, Amber Fever has the most considered resinous base construction. The labdanum-benzoin-patchouli combination gives the amber accord genuine depth, and the longevity is among the best in the line. This is a fragrance built for people who want amber without apology.
Character
Accords: Amber, Warm Spicy, Sweet, Floral, Balsamic, Woody
Perfumer: Pierre Montale
Launched: 2012
The title names the condition accurately. Amber Fever opens with a citrus-spice accord, bergamot and grapefruit sharpened by cardamom, and then amber takes over with a completeness that the opening seems designed to delay rather than prevent. Labdanum deepens the amber in the heart, benzoin sweetening the resinous accord from below, and vanilla in the base gives the drydown a warmth that holds close to the skin. Patchouli is the element that prevents this from becoming a simple sweet amber, its earthiness keeping the accord honest.
