Melody of the Sun opens with bergamot and neroli, the citrus-orange blossom combination that has meant morning in the Mediterranean since the 18th century. Jasmine and rose arrive in the heart without interrupting the lightness of the opening, the florals carried by the neroli's warmth rather than asserting themselves at their own volume. Sandalwood and amber close with a warmth that is the afternoon to the opening's morning, gentle and sustained, cedar giving the base a slight dryness that prevents the amber from becoming sweet.
