Cap Camarat
Cap Camarat is a headland on the Cote d'Azur, and Massenet captures its specific quality: not the open sea, but the place where coast meets garden. Sea notes and grapefruit in the opening have a salted brightness rather than an aquatic sharpness. Muguet and iris in the heart bring in the botanical element, jasmine adding warmth to the floral arrangement without pulling it away from the coastal character. Ambergris in the base gives the drydown a depth and warmth that most transparent aquatic fragrances cannot sustain past the top.
Why We Carry This
Massenet's handling of ambergris in Cap Camarat's base is what separates this from the broader category of Mediterranean-inspired fragrances. The muguet-iris heart gives it a specificity that makes it feel located rather than generic. The ocean-blue suede bottle is the right object for what it contains.
