The Odeon is a district of Paris, and Memo's version of it is restrained and urbane in the way the Left Bank aspires to be. Pink pepper and bergamot open with a sharpness that iris softens almost immediately, the powdery floral note pulling the spice toward something more refined. Rose and violet in the heart continue the powdery direction, and vetiver in the sandalwood-amber base gives the composition a dry, slightly smoky depth that keeps the soft floral heart from reading as light or inconsequential.
