Coppermann's approach here is quietly counterintuitive: a blackberry leaf and apricot opening into a black leather base is not an obvious sequence, and the popcorn note in the drydown is either the most interesting choice in the collection or the most divisive.

Blackberry leaf and apricot open with a green-tart freshness before orris root and rosewood take the composition into warmer, woodier territory. Cassis adds a dark fruit quality to the heart that jasmine sambac lifts without sweetening. Black leather in the base arrives clean and dry, cedar giving it structure, popcorn adding a starchy, unexpected textural note that lingers beneath everything else.
