Amber & Spices opens with saffron and cardamom in the kind of proximity that only works when both materials are handled at concentration. Cinnamon arrives next, not as sweetness but as heat, sharpening the spice accord before the oud-and-amber heart absorbs everything into a warm, resinous core. Labdanum and benzoin deepen the base over time, the whole composition drying down to a skin-close amber that holds its warmth for hours. This is the Montale amber canon at its most direct.
