Honey and cacao in the opening of Lucky Candy do something unexpected: they read roasted rather than sweet, the bergamot keeping the accord from tipping into dessert before the frangipani and marshmallow heart softens everything into something tropical and genuinely warm. Neroli gives the floral mid-stage enough brightness to prevent stodginess. The toffee and vanilla base are the most unambiguously sweet elements in the composition, but by the time the drydown arrives, the amber has given the sweetness enough depth that it reads as gourmand rather than candy-counter.
