Peony and jasmine give the rose company without diluting it, and orris adds a floury depth that anchors the floral arrangement. The musk base is where this fragrance earns the Intense designation: ambrette in particular gives the white musk a warmth and diffusion that standard musk bases cannot match. This is a skin-close finish that holds for most of the day.

Montale's 2022 reformulation of the Roses Musk line added the ambrette base that the earlier versions were missing. That single material upgrade shifts the musk quality from generic to genuinely intimate. Among the rose-musk fragrances in our catalog, this one wears the closest to skin.
