Soleil de Capri
Kumquat is the opening note that sets Soleil de Capri apart from most Montale releases: it reads as citrus-bitter rather than citrus-bright, the grapefruit and general citrus accord amplifying that slightly tart quality. White flowers arrive in the heart with a warmth that the citrus opening has built toward, the spice note threading through both stages as a quiet, almost invisible connector. The musk drydown is the Montale signature: skin-close, persistent, and warm. For a house built on oud and Arabian orientals, this is a rare, genuinely light expression.
Why We Carry This
Soleil de Capri occupies the space on the Montale shelf reserved for the client who finds the Arabians line too dense. The kumquat accord gives this a distinctive citrus character that holds against most warm-weather compositions, and the white flower heart is more substantial than the light opening suggests.
