Eragon handles the aldehyde-to-wood transition with a lightness that most masculine woodies bypass entirely. The labdanum gives it resinous depth without pulling the whole composition into amber territory.

The aldehydes in the opening give Eragon an unexpected crispness for a woody aromatic, lemon and bergamot riding on top before pepper and labdanum deepen the heart. Patchouli sits in the middle register, earthier than sweet. Sandalwood and vetiver take over the base gradually and stay put.
