Bitter orange and angelica root open Sacred Groove with a quality that is both familiar and slightly medicinal, a classical aromatic pairing that sets up the floral heart deliberately. Turkish rose, jasmine, and iris in the heart are a full accord, labdanum and lavender giving the florals an incense-forward warmth. The base is the payoff: tonka bean, myrrh, vanilla, and patchouli, a structure that holds the floral heart in a resinous embrace and extends the whole composition for hours.
