Kirke Overdose
Overdose is a fair name. Paolo Terenzi amplifies the original Kirkè's tropical florality by pushing all four opening notes, passionfruit, peach, Bulgarian rose, and raspberry, forward together, resulting in something that's simultaneously opulent and oddly wearable. The heart is where he earns the name rather than the notoriety: sand and jasmine sambac with gardenia and lily of the valley create a beach-floral accord that has genuine physicality, not the synthetic clean of most aquatic-florals. Bourbon vanilla and heliotrope in the base are the softest landing for a fragrance that announces itself loudly.
Why We Carry This
Ten years after the original, Terenzi's house released a version that understands what made Kirkè remarkable and chooses to amplify rather than preserve it. Overdose is a bolder read of a great formula, and it works.
